Here is a tentative schedule for MA 101, MA 102….this may change depending on schedules and class questions/participation.

Wed. 9/2: First day of class. Introductions. Discussion of what students had been doing in MA 121. Overview of what calculus is.
Fri. 9/4 Review what the graph of a function is. (Section 0.4, with 0.1 – 0.3 as needed)
Mon. 9/7 Library of Functions, Section 0.5
Tu.  9/8 Practice using different forms of the equation of lines.
Wed. 9/9 Transformations. Section 0.6
Fri. 9/11  More practice. Do some fun logic puzzles too.
Mon. 9/14 Intuitive introduction to limits. Section 1.1
Tu. 9/15 Formal def. of limit. Section 1.2
Wed. 9/16 Formal def. Of limit. Sections 1.2, 1.3. (Very limited amount of 1.3)
Fri. 9/18 Continuity. Section 1.4
Mon. 9/21 Continuity and/or practice
Tu. 9/22 Sections 1.5 and 1.6.
Wed. 9/23 Review/Catch-up
Fri. 9/25  Sections 2.1 and 2.2. Focus on connecting the informal definition to the formal one.

W. 11/4 Trig Functions & Trig Identities Sections 6.1, 6.2. (really understand sin^2 + cos^2 = 1, know about the others so you can look them up when needed.) Good idea to memorize basic values of sin/cos/tan on 0, pi/6, pi/4, pi/3, pi/2, pi, 3pi/2.

M. 11/9 Practice with Calculus of Trig Functions.
T. 11/10 Inverse Trig Functions. Section 6.4

W. 11/12 Review of Differential Calculus

  FINAL AFTER THANKSGIVING — REMOTE
1st Week of JP Review Material from Fall, Go over FTC again.
2nd Week of JP Chapter 8: Techniques of Integration. Cover Integration by parts very lightly. Skip 8.3 (partial fractions). Skip 8.5 (trig substitution) If there’s time cover 8.7 on numerical integration. Learn how to use WolframAlpha to integrate.
3rd Week of JP Chapter 9: Applications of Integration. Focus on 9.4, 9.5. Give preference to 9.3 over 9.1 and 9.2.
